Runners from the Kansas City area were successful in their attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ for the Fastest Marathon Distance in Relay.
26.2 miles - 188 handoffs - 223 meters at a time!
The event was held Friday, June 15th, 2018 at the Johnson County Community College Indoor Track.
A total of 60 runners participated and nearly all of them ran at least twice, some ran up to 5 legs each. It was a blast to watch happen and we couldn't be more excited about getting the record!

The event organizers issued their first press release to raise awareness about the event and to assist in the relay team recruiting efforts. We need runners!
A second press release was sent out to publicize the event's date and location, and to announce that the roster now has athletes from 35 High Schools and 11 Universities!
After breaking the record, the final press release was sent out. We are happy to announce that we broke the record in grand fashion and had a great time too!
